Love All!! [Chapter 4]

Summarized by: Amai

The chapter begins with Kimari and Tenchi hugging each other under the sheets. In the background the words spoken in the previous chapter appear [Tenchi blamed himself for being useless and Kimari tried to cheer him up]. Kimari slowly moves away from him and they both blush, ashamed with what just happened. Tenchi asks Kimari what she is doing, then a stranger enters the infirmary asking for a plaster who then encounters them. To make things worse, Byū wakes up and appears in his half-naked self. After some explanations, the stranger [who is sticking a plaster on his forearm] still doesn't seem to believe them, he thinks that what he saw looked more like an erotic party than a Badminton Club discussion. Tenchi nervously tries to explain that they want to restart club activities to prevent the abolition of the Special Course. The stranger is surprised to hear this and asks if they are serious about it. Then he grabs Tenchi's notebook with plans concerning the club [well, at least it seems it's his notebook], after reading them becomes hyper and says it's like they 'want to change the future'. Tenchi tries to bring him back to earth by saying their aim isn't so splendid, but the stranger doesn't listen. Instead, he decides to join the Badminton Club to make his name famous throughout the country by protecting the Special Section! Kimari blushes in excitement, happy that they've found a new member for the club so unexpectedly. The stranger introduces himself as Hishikawa Zen, second year of Special Section and asks for Tenchi's, Byū's and Kimari's names. After Kimari says who she is, Zen asks if it's her brother who died because of acute alcoholism. Kimari, feeling offended, shouts that it wasn't like that. Zen teases her by blithely saying that it was her who acted mutinously at the entrance ceremony, then immediately says sorry and changing the topic, asks when and where the practice will be held. Tenchi tells him that they're practising every day after school. Except Mondays, they're free to use the old gymnasium as much as they want. Zen thanks him for the information and bids them farewell, hoping to see them tomorrow at practice. Kimari is confused, for some reason she has a bad feeling about Zen. The following day Zen comes to the classroom where Kimari is distributing some papers to her classmates and greets her, calling her the club 'manager'. When he leaves the room, the girls starts chatting about him [who he is, how handsome he is etc.], so next time when Kimari sees him [he's changing clothes before the practice], she thinks that although he's not her type, he can encourage other girls to join the club. In the meantime, Zen asks her if after practice they can go somewhere to buy something to drink. After checking the floor of the gymnasium with his finger, Zen decides it's filthy and becomes excited about cleaning it. He throws Kimari a mop, shows her where should she start cleaning and announces the beginning of a cleaning contest. Before Kimari is able to get what he means, he starts wiping the floor furiously. Zen wins the contest overpowering Kimari [he's done 78% of the floor while she's done 22%]. When she's sitting exhausted on the floor, Zen is 'celebrating' [screaming and jumping] his victory, then suddenly stops and says that he felt a pleasant wind. Kimari wonders if in this gymnasium, in the good times, Kiyoi used to feel the same.

The next scene, shows Zen asking Kimari where he should put the poles he's holding. Because he's holding three poles at once, Kimari is amazed by his strength and asks if they're not heavy. Zen says that he's working physically as his part-time job and unexpectedly lifts Kimari so that she sits on his shoulder. When he notices her shocked expression he puts her down and says sorry because just now he felt like she was his younger brother. Kimari asks if he has a younger brother, he confirms - his younger brother is fourth year of elementary school and he also has a younger sister who is second year of elementary school- Kimari thinks to herself that he's the eldest brother, when he tells her to call him by his name and starts calling her directly "Kimari". Kimari is confused because she thought that there was something wrong with him and it seems his frankness and tone made her change her opinion about him. Kimari and Zen continue cleaning when Tenchi and Byū come [Zen greets them as 'elite-kuntachi'=elite guys/guys from the elite^^]. Kimari is glad they stretched the net so it finally fits [they finished preparing the court] and surprises Tenchi with the familiar tone she refers Zen with. Leaving it behind, Tenchi announces the schedule of activities while the group is warming-up. First, the club is supposed to gather. Secondly, they have to earn some fundamental knowledge about badminton. Then practise and lastly, gather signatures [I don't get that part]. Although they got the principal's approval on doing the Badminton Club, she can always go back on her word. Still, it's okay to strain one's arms for the sake of saving the Special Section. He also says that they cannot ignore collecting signatures. Zen is positive they will gather those signatures and promises that his friends will sign it, Kimari also promises to nag her neighbours to sign. Then Tenchi says that although they don't have their own rackets, the previous club members left some behind. Kimari suddenly feels that ever since Zen joined the club, everything concerning their activities hastened and decides that she, too, will try her best. Suddenly, Zen's phone rings and he answers. He then says he has to leave immediately, so they'll meet tomorrow. Tenchi is wondering, if Zen had to go to work, when the Special Section's teacher, Katsuyama, comes to see them and says that Zen is a hard-working person. Everybody [well, except Byū, of course] is stunned when they see him. He looks like after an "extreme makeover", with a Mohican and cool glasses^-^ Next day Tenchi brings a DVD to practice. He's sure that they can learn how to play badminton from it, so soon everybody is sitting around his laptop and watching lesson 1, from which they are supposed to learn the names of certain parts of the badminton equipment. Zen glances at the rest and as he sees that Kimari and Tenchi are watching the material attentively [it seems like Byū is sleeping], he decides to do the same [to watch, not to sleep, lol]. When the speaker suggests them to grasp a racket, Kimari advises Zen how to hold it, and explains what is a forehand and a backhand. Seeing how Zen cannot manage to hit a shuttle, she tells him to watch and to show him how to do that properly - she hits the shuttle really hard. Zen is pretty shocked that "the manager" can play badminton, when Byū, who's been standing on the other side of the net all the time, jumps and hits the shuttle, which then flies over Kimari and Zen and falls right in front of the last line of the badminton court. Speechless Kimari, Zen and Tenchi stare at Byū with their eyes wide open. Zen, breaking the silence, notices that Tenchi let his laptop fall on the floor. At the same time, annoyed Tenchi approaches Byū and reminds him that he promised not to use his right arm. Byū says that he forgot about it, but Tenchi doesn't believe him. Kimari is still under the impression of what just happened and asks Byū what was that supposed to be and who taught him that strike. He says that he learned it from the DVD, so Kimari starts to wonder what kind of being Byū is. Then it seems they watch the DVD again [or read a course book] and learn that to play badminton they need to "be excited and keep composure at the same time". Zen decides to try it out [he keeps a straight face and moves his legs quickly]. And like the previous day, his mobile phone rings, he answers it and then with shining eyes says he has to go, comparing it [the call] to the chime beat at twelve o'clock. After he leaves, Kimari finds that he left his ring behind, so Tenchi suggests her to chase after him [when she disappears, Tenchi glances at Byū who stands by the door with his usual poker face].

Somewhere else, Kimari finds Zen. She's about to call him, when she notices that he's meeting with an unknown woman. Kimari hides behind tree and eavesdrops their talk - Zen says something about "having no choice/no more than this" and gives her some money. When Kimari returns to Tenchi and Byū, she seems pissed off. Next day she's spying on Zen, observing him in his work [he's working as a builder]. Suddenly she sees that he tells his supervisor that his time is up, so he's leaving and then he goes somewhere to change his clothes. He comes out formally dressed, which astounds Kimari, but she continues following him to a restaurant, where he meets with an old lady [I suppose she's old, but it can't be seen clearly] and calls her "Red Rose." This surprises Kimari to the extreme[it's obviously just a pick-up line and she probably didn't expect Zen to use it], and exclaims "Red Rose?!" in disbelief, thus exposing herself. Some time later, she talks with Zen at the rear of the restaurant. Zen is touched that she was stalking him [lol xD]. Kimari says it wasn't like this and asks if he has two jobs, goes to school and after that attends the club activities. He says that the job is just an addition to this. Kimari cannot believe him, when he adds that he loves to work - she then wonders why he would gave money to that women. As Zen sees the sceptical expression on her face, he smiles and says that he seems to be taking everything lightly. He used to think that without school he would be completely free. But he didn't know anything about the reality, so he didn't know what is the right thing to do and his mother was wreaking her anger on him. He heard that "it is not good to live like this" and being on the rebound, he started looking for a job. But though he's been earning money, he has less time to study. Zen says he felt that leaving the school during a term would be a good idea, but now he understands that having high school education is essential. After saying this, he changes the topic and asks Kimari why she attends the Special Course [why from other schools has she chosen Special Course]? Kimari's eyes widen, she gets up and goes away without a word. Zen asks if she's already going home - after a moment of thinking she turns around and says: "See you at the club activities, Red Rose♥". Zen then smirks and shouts after her: "I'm glad that I've joined the Badminton Club! Let's save the Special Course! We'll change the future!" Blushing, Kimari nods. Then she starts her usual inner monologue-talk with Kiyo. She says that she didn't give Zen an answer to his question at that time. The truth is, she simply took an examination because she had no energy [to try to find a better school?] and she still doesn't know much about the Special Section [or she's still not sure about the reason she chose it]. The next day a man interrupts the club activities and calls Hishikawa-kun [Zen]. Kimari, Byū and Tenchi observe as Tenchi bows in front of the man like he is begging him for something. When the man goes away, Zen explains that it was someone who came to collect tuition [but Zen didn't have money to pay him]. Kimari is worried that he has to pay for school by himself, but he ensures her that he will pay properly. Tenchi speaks from behind that if Zen drops out of Special Course, the club will have three members again. Zen smiles and says that he has to go somewhere for a moment and he leaves the room. When he's outside the building, Byū [yes, Byū finally acts like a human!] unexpectedly rushes to the door, commanding "Follow me". Tenchi and Kimari do as he wishes, and soon they are hiding behind a bush, observing Zen and the woman from before. Kimari asks Byū what the purpose for following and peeking at Zen is for [why does he wanted to do this], but he doesn't answer. Instead, they hear the woman telling Zen - she's sorry, but today all of a sudden the situation became bad [maybe she means that she doesn't have money anymore]. Zen's hands shake in anger, when he mutters that for some time he won't give her anything. He explains that he wants to pay tuition fee which surprises the woman who thought he didn't plan on attending school next year and she is sure this way would be better. Zen still is afraid to look straight into her eyes, but he says that here [in this school] he wants to change his future. The woman is sure that he'll waste his time and money spending them here. Zen finally shouts into her face that it's not like this and that he wants to change his future! Kimari thinks to herself that "not in the future, Zen's changing right now". Suddenly, Tenchi comes out from behind the bush and tells Zen that he will always have support. He throws Tenchi a racket and asks if he really meant that he wants to change the future. Zen smiles as it is something obvious and his mother goes away without a word. Kimari [still behind the bush] is about to start worrying about Zen, when Byū, who's crouching next to her, says that everything will be okay, because "that guy [Zen] seems tough". Kimari looks at Zen, who is smiling and thinks that he really is. Some time later, Zen is trying to encourage people to join the Badminton Club [he's got a rose in his mouth], with Kimari cheering him on. When she turns around to greet Byū and Tenchi, Zen, blushing, thinks to himself that she seems too good to be [his] girlfriend [that he doesn't deserve her]. The chapter ends with the line: "Shikano Mori's Badminton Club is still recruiting members!"

Translator's Commentary: Huh, I hope this time everything is clear, though some parts were difficult to translate, so I'm really sorry if I got them wrong.
I'm really curious about the next chapter, but we have to wait a full month to see what happens. I might be wrong, but it seems like next chapters will be concentrated on recruiting new members. Maybe other girls will appear? For now, our main character is surrounded with boys, so to maintain the balance some more females are needed;)
I'm so, so, so happy that Byū is doing something, not much, but after previous chapters it was a huge progress. I wonder what Tenchi meant by telling him about 'the promise not to use his right arm'. Was Byū some kind of sportsman? Did he have problems with arm and have to quit, so now he has to be cautious? Or had to quit for some other reason [depression, for example] and now has to hide his talent? And the most important: WHY IS HE SO DAMN HOT?:D
