Chocolate Girl [Chapter 7]

The chapter starts with Tezuka confessing to Kyouko that he loves her. He is about to kiss her but she suddenly faints due to her high fever. Tezuka then carries Kyouko to her bed. Kyouko's breathing gets heavier and it seems her cold is getting worse. Tezuka is looking at her closely, as if he's going to kiss her, but instead, he leaves the room. Kyouko is then left thinking that Tezuka's confession was just a dream and believes that there is no way he would ever tell her something like that even if the sun came up from west or if she was luckiest person. She then thinks that even if it was a dream, she is happy. The following morning Kyouko's at the office and greets everyone, and she seems very well. She is suddenly called to the President’s office, and finds the President, Akae-san and Tezuka already waiting. Kyouko sees Tezuka and remembers his confession “I love you” and blushes and can’t take her eyes off him even though Akae-san blocks her view and asks her if she is feeling better (she doesn’t realise that he was in front of her). The President informs the three of them that Tezuka and Akae-san are going to be the protagonist in the drama. She goes on saying that because this is the first time Tezuka has golden part, to not pull his leg down. Hearing this, Kyouko turns a bit down. Akae-san then holds her hand and tells her that he’s glad that she will be in the same scene. Meanwhile, Tezuka is looking at Kyouko smiling at Akae. He then pulls her and kidnaps her saying he that he will be late for the next scene. Kyouko is nervous that he has his arm around her and doesn't resist. The President and Akae-san are left in the office, and Akae-san is looking at Kyouko (perhaps he is a bit jealous? I’m not 100% sure from his facial expression).

Kyouko and Tezuka are in the next scene near the sea. Tezuka is telling her off for smiling at Akae-san, who did horrible things to her. Kyouko is taken back but replies that she’s glad that he said something mean to her because otherwise it’s not Tezuka. She then goes on about the how character is going to act, (it's a love story) and in this scene he is going to confess to his lover. Tezuka looks a bit embarrassed when hearing this, and Kyoko, again, remembers his confession to her. She blushes and tries to shake it off since she thinks it was just a dream. Tezuka is about to confess to her again but Kyouko changes the subject by mentioning what Tezuka said about him being nicer to her. Tezuka gets angry and goes back to his scene. Everyone is freaked out how angry Tezuka is and warn others to not meet his eyes, otherwise they'll be turned into stone. During Tezuka’s scene, Kyouko is thinking about his confession, and wonders how she can remember it so realistically. Then it goes onto Tezuka’s line where he has to confess to his lover by saying “I love you”. Kyouko gets conscious and embarrassed but because Tezuka is not saying it naturally, he has to retake it many times-Kyouko is getting damage through this. At the end, when he finally gets an O.K. from the director, Tezuka and Kyouko look tired from hearing and saying “I love you” for about 10 times. Kyouko comes near him to praise him but Tezuka glares at her (lovingly/while blushing) and tells her to go away since she is clumsy, she might fall into the sea. And just as he predicted, because of the wind, Kyouko falls into the sea. Tezuka goes to her rescue and angrily tells everyone he’s going to borrow the bus and buy the actress’s dress (costume). Kyouko is sneezing and saying thank you to Tezuka but she knows he is extremely angry at her. She tells him to go back to the scene but while looking like a demon, he tells her that he will gently cuddle her. Kyouko is surprised (scared) hearing this. He then gets closer to her saying that they will do what people do when they get lost in the snow (take off their clothes and cuddle). She tells him that they didn’t get lost and it’s not snowy but he tells her to shut up since she is stupid enough to fall into the sea. He shouts at her saying that it’s annoying if she gets cold again and spreads the disease to everyone else. Kyouko screams – narrates that in Europe there used to be dolls that had needles on its body and it was used when people wanted to torture criminals- Tezuka hugs Kyouko even though she is screaming and crying because of fear, but she finally calms down when she feels his heart beat. She is getting warmer as she is held by Tezuka. Other staffs peek into the bus and begin to gossip about how Tezuka was doing sleeper-hold on Kyouko.

The drama finally finishes and Tezuka starts his new drama with Akae-san as the main characters. Tezuka puts glasses on and Kyouko tells him that glasses really suit him, and that all the women who love (moe) boys with glasses will fall in love with him. But he tells her to don’t say ‘moe’ since it creeps him out. Akae-san comes into Tezuka’s dressing room, telling him that the drama is going to start soon. Kyouko comments on his new blond hair, and Akae-san asks Kyouko whether it suits him. Kyouko tells him because it’s Akae-san, anything would suit him and asks Tezuka for his opinion (though he doesn’t really say much). Then Akae-san comments that Tezuka and Kyouko seem much closer than before. Kyouko and Akae-san seem to have left Tezuka’s room. Akae then informs Kyouko, that Yoshioka, an amazing manager, was fired. Kyouko is shocked from hearing this and asks why. He tells her that it was because Yoshioka and his talent were in a relationship. Kyouko is surprised, Akae then goes on saying it’s obvious since managers cannot lay hands on their product, because if it becomes a scandal then that person’s image will be ruined especially before the talent sells. Kyouko seems to be worried and stares at Akae-san. She is worried that he and his manager (guy) might be in a relationship. Though his manager says that he has no interest in anyone, male or female, who starts to grow their hair (a bit worrying comment…) Akae-san then tells Kyouko to work hard on drama together and pats her on the head. Kyouko blushes at Akae-san a little bit since he just patted her. Then suddenly Tezuka appears behind her looking angrily. Kyouko is surprised at his appearance and tries to tell him about Yoshioka but he asks her for the answer. Kyouko doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Tezuka tells her that on the day when she had a fever he told her that he loved her so he wants an answer. Kyouko still goes on about her dream and starts to realise. Tezuka goes over to her and says ‘I love you’ while leaning in closer to her as if he is about to kiss her. But Kyouko slaps his face. Tezuka gets angry, and Kyouko says since it hurts, it’s not a dream. Tezuka hits her on her head, but Kyouko is still saying it hurts so it can’t be a dream. Tezuka gets annoyed but he again says ‘I love you’ while blushing. Kyouko is happy hearing this and is about to say me too but she remembers what Akae-san said about how the talent and manager cannot be together. Tezuka asks her for an answer but Kyouko doesn't say anything. At the interview of the new drama, it is commented that the drama is going to be a very sad and romantic love story about two men who are after the same woman. The chapter ends with Kyouko thinking that she can never tell Tezuka she loves him.
