Chapter 23
The chapter begins with Hikari asking Mimi, “Didn’t you have a similar mark on your neck a little while ago?” Mimi was more shocked than surprised. The mark he saw before was the mark left by Sensei. Mimi recovers from the shock and quickly tells him that she got bit by a big bug and she scratched her neck too much. Hikari accepted her lie, saying that that’s what he thought. After Hikari leaves, Mimi takes a breath and thinks that if Hikari finds out that she went to see Sensei, he will get hurt and most likely get mad. She doesn’t want to fight at such a happy time. Back in the classroom, Mimi looks at her shinro kibou sheet that has “Become Hikari’s wife” as her first choice. Hikari looks over her shoulders with a smile on his face; happy that both of them have marrying each other as their first choice, though Mimi is not as satisfied as Hikari. Both Yousuke and Sumire are thinking deeper about it and going to college. Hikari tells her that he promised to make her “happy.” But Mimi doesn’t want him to decide what’s “happy” for her; its Hikari’s dream to make Mimi his wife. The wife who cooks for him in an apron with ruffles, who would wash his back, and waits for his return everyday with a smile. Hikari then asks her if Mimi has anything she wants to do other than becoming his wife. Hikari loves the ocean, and it’s his dream to become a fisherman. After school, Mimi goes over to Hikari’s house so he can let her go on his father’s boat. Together, they set out to learn what it takes to be fisherman. Recently Hikari’s father has been letting him get on the boat as the fisherman’s apprentice. So Hikari decides to show Mimi what being a fisher man is all about. Mimi immediately complains about the heat, saying that she’s going to die. Hikari is already used to the temperature and tells her “of course, there’s no air conditioner on the boat.” Mimi then joins Hikari to pull the net with fishes out of the water. She begins to complain that it’s too heavy and that her arm is going to rip off. After three hours of hard work, she couldn’t believe how little the amount of fishes they caught.

After finding out how hard the job of fisherman is, all Mimi does is complain inside her head. She can no longer see any islands and she starts to fear the big ocean. A big boat passes by and Hikari holds Mimi close because their boat is going to shake. The shake gets Mimi so dizzy that she passes out. Mimi then wakes up laying on Hikari by the shore. Hikari then explains that she passed out from the constant dizziness from the ship moving. He then apologizes for being inconsiderate and tells her that a girl doesn’t have stamina as high as guy’s, and he should have thought about it before taking her out to such a place. Mimi then asks him why he wants to do such a hard job. Hikari agrees and says his father taught him that there’s no work that isn’t hard. It’s the dream Hikari found and the road he chooses to follow. Going to an ocean nobody else would go to, to desperately catch a fish, and later take it home, so that everybody eats it, that satisfies him. Mimi didn’t know that he already found his shinro and realizes that that’s why he's always so confident and bright. Mimi looks deeply into Hikari’s eyes and Hikari, taking advantange of the moment, kisses her. Mimi then wonders in her head as she holds onto Hikari’s strong hand; “If I hold on to this strong hand, maybe I can really become happy, but is it okay to just walk on the road Hikari created for me? Maybe there is a road only for me.” On the path of the road for Mimi that she wonders, there was a blue cat with a bell on its tail waiting for her. Mimi arrives home and asks Yousuke how to find her dream. She then starts questioning him, "For the time being, should I go to college? But what will I study? What about a job? But I don't have a specific job that works for me." Yousuke tells her that not knowing what she wants to do is normal. That’s why he's going to college so that he can find what he wants to do. He then tells her that he is going to Tokyo for an open house for some colleges and asks her if she wants to tag along. The idea delights her and Mimi finally realizes that that’s what she wants to do; go to Tokyo. Hikari says that he cannot let the two go to Tokyo by themselves so he decides to go too. Then Sumire says that she always wanted to go to Tokyo so she’s coming with them too. Yousuke anticipating this outcomes, complains that having all of them come will be annoying.

Chapter 24
The chapter starts out with the four of them in Tokyo. Since it’s their first day, they decide to spend their first day sightseeing. Even though Mimi came to find her “shinro,” she realizes that there are so many options to pick from that her mind is about to explode. Hikari notices Mimi looking dark and tells her to don’t think about it too hard and just pick, and move on. For someone who’s taking the shinro seriously, Hikari's careless remark pisses Mimi off. But Mimi didn’t bother arguing with him and left the group saying that she needs to use the restroom. Instead of using the restroom, Mimi sits on the bench thinking about what Hikari said. Not everyone can easily pick what they want to do. She doesn’t even have a hobby or something she likes to do. She’s not sure if she will find her shinro either. All she can see is a white space in front of her. Then, she suddenly felt a hand push her from behind. She immediately assumed that it’s Hikari and turns around with anger; however, it turns out to be little boy who looks like Hikari when he was little. The little boy tells her that he's lost and starts to cry. Mimi tries to calm the boy down and asks for his name, where he lost his mother, and his address but he keeps crying. Mimi doesn’t know what to do and feels like crying also. Hikari suddenly appears noticing how hopeless they are, both crying. Hikari tells the kid that boy’s are not supposed to cry and asks for his name. The little boy then calls himself Hiroto-kun and Hikari corrected him to Hiroto. (Your not suppose to put “kun” after your own name.) Hikari then tells Hiroto-kun that he's a pica-ranger (Like a power ranger) patrolling the neighborhood with a power ranger pose. Hiroto-kun’s eyes shine and he gasps with excitement and surprise.

Hikari puts Hiroto-kun on his shoulder and they leave for a mission to find his mother. Mimi is surprised to find out about Hikari's great ability to handle kids. Mimi doesn’t know how to interact with kids because she doesn’t know what they're thinking, therefore, she doesn’t know what to do with kids. Hikari tells her that she’s thinking too hard. There’s no right or wrong in your future, so she doesn’t have to rush because she'll eventually find her own shinro. Mimi agrees and looks at Hikari, who looks more older and mature (maybe because his holding a child?). Then Hiroto-kun touches Mimi’s breast which causes Hikari to freak out and tells Hiroto that “There are things a man is not allowed to do!” Hikari also gets mad at Mimi for letting Hiroto-kun touch “his” breast. Mimi gets confused saying that the breasts are hers. The two of them stopped yelling when they noticed Hiroto-kun looking down as he pulls Mimi’s finger. He must have thought that they were fighting and started to feel sad. Mimi thought back at when she was little that every time her parents fought, she felt insecure and anxiety. She quickly tells him that it’s okay and hugs Hikari saying that they were that intimate. Hiroto-kun smiles, satisfied, and makes Mimi blush from how cute he is. Then Hikari asked if this is how they're going to feel when they have their own kid. Mimi’s little fantasy moment got interrupted when Hiroto-kun’s mother calls out for him. Hiroto-kun runs for towards his mother but Hikari starts asking how the mother can let her eyes off of such a little kid. Hikari was about to continue nagging her but Hiroto-kun stops him, telling him to stop being mean to his mother. The mother thanks Hiroto-kun and kisses him on the cheek. Hikari is surprised at how fast he changed sides. Mimi tells him that that’s how much he loved his mother. Mimi is touched at how much kids need their mother and starts to tear up. Hikari sees that and says “Let’s make our own child!” Mimi immediately rejects him but she gets an idea of her shinro, how about becoming a child’s nurse at nursery school? Being able to hold the small hands of little kids as work sounded great to Mimi. But back at the island, there were no nursery schools, which meant that she had to leave the island to learn to be a child’s nurse…And the only way she was able to accomplish that was by seperating from Hikari.

Chapter 25
Mimi begins to wonder that the future choices she will make can cause her and Hikari to separate… She wants to become a child’s nurse and come to Tokyo to go to school for it. But she doesn’t want a long distance relationship. Mimi and Hikari are now back at the hotel, and Hikari comes out of the shower saying how great hotels are in Tokyo and sharing a room with Mimi is great; they can finally have a private time together. Hikari starts kissing Mimi on the neck but Mimi immediately stops him saying that she’s not in the mood. She’s too busy thinking about her future and the possibility of separating from Hikari. When Mimi tells Hikari that she has things to think about, Hikari gets mad because she’s making him look stupid. He has things to think about too. The argument continues; Mimi believes that Hikari only thinks about “H” things and breakfast, “H” things and lunch and video games, then “H” things and dinner. Hikari gets mad saying that’s the kind of way she thinks about him… and they continued fighting all night long. The following day, the four friends meet up and Mimi and Hikari are still fighting. Yousuke tells them to fight when they get back to the island because today is the day to go on a filed trip to college. Hikari says that it’s fine with him, and he has a place he wants to go. Sumire chases after him and Mimi and Yousuke decided to go to the college together. Mimi is determined to have fun of her own. At the college she finds out how big colleges in Tokyo are. There are ten floors, the cafeteria is huge, and the library is also huge. Yousuke decides to go get something to drink and asks Mimi to wait there for him. While she was waiting, Mimi looks into her purse and takes out her phone. Maybe she received a text/email from Hikari with an apology. (In Japan, they use email messaging instead.) But her phone was blank. She then starts to wonder, “What is Hikari doing right now!?”

The next scenes show Hikari and Sumire taking pictures of an enormous sized Gundam. Hikari tells Sumire that he always wanted to see the huge Gundam in Tokyo. (Recently made.) Sumire tells him that he should send a message or two to Mimi. Hikari tells her that there’s nothing to say, and recently their relationship has gotten difficult. As Mimi states at her phone, she wonders if they will be able to have a long distance relationship like this. Mimi’s not honest and Hikari’s slow. If they keep this up, Hikari is going to find an honest and pretty new girlfriend soon. Mimi continues looking depressed. Then she felt a hand rest on her shoulder. “Hey, you’re cute!” Mimi looks at the two guys who came up to her blankly. They started asking her if she goes to college or if she’s in high school. Mimi realizes that its nanpa/ flirting, but doesn’t know how to respond. They continued flirting with her and ask her to hang out with them. But Yousuke comes back and rescues her, saying she’s with him. The two guys immediately back up from looking at Yousuke’s beautiful face. They blush, then apologize and leave. Mimi starts laughing because Yousuke can bully them with his face. She started to laugh at what would happen if Hikari was here. He would start a fight, and then get mad at Mimi for letting them flirt with her. Yousuke tells her that her phone beeped and she checks her phone, but it was just an ad. She closed her phone, saying never mind, Hikari is stupid. When Mimi thinks hard about something, it’s always about Hikari. Even with shinro, because Hikari is important to her. Yousuke is listening to Mimi and tells her that she should show that kind of cute face to Hikari and not him. She’s not going to receive any messages even if she waits. They don’t have time to text each other. If they have something to say, they always meet and say it face to face. Maybe today is the first day she felt lonely since she started dating Hikari. It’s true; they are always together that they don’t need messages. Hikari does something stupid and it’s funny. He has a big mouth so it pisses her off. And when he holds her, she’s happy; they're so close that they don’t even have a time to feel lonely. The chapter ends with Mimi telling Yousuke that she has something to say to Hikari and runs off.
